Job Overview The Private Credit Associate will play a key role in supporting the investment team in sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring private credit investments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of credit markets, financial analysis, and investment processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Sourcing : Assist in identifying new investment opportunities by conducting market research, attending industry events, and networking with market participants.
- Due Diligence : Perform comprehensive due diligence on potential investments, including financial analysis, industry research, and risk assessment.
- Financial Modeling : Create and maintain financial models to evaluate investment opportunities and assess portfolio performance.
- Investment Analysis : Conduct credit analysis, including reviewing financial statements, assessing cash flow, and analyzing business risks.
- Transaction Support : Assist in structuring, negotiating, and closing credit transactions, ensuring compliance with internal and external guidelines.
- Portfolio Monitoring : Monitor existing investments to ensure compliance with covenants, track financial performance, and report on portfolio risk.
- Reporting : Prepare investment memoranda and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration : Work closely with other team members, including portfolio managers, analysts, and legal advisors.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education : Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field. An MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
- Experience : 2-4 years of experience in private credit, investment banking, corporate finance, or a related field.
- Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to perform complex financial analysis.
- Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Attention to Detail : Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work.
- Teamwork : Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Technology : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with financial modeling software is a plus.
- Problem-Solving : Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
