Job descriptionProvide real-time Pulaar English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders. Deliver services with accuracy, neutrality, and professionalism in immigration and legal contexts. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to USCIS / DHS compliance standards. Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge interpretation requests. Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits. Native or near-native fluency in Pulaar and English. 2+ years of interpreting experience (immigration, legal, community, or government preferred). Familiarity with interpreter ethics and confidentiality standards. Strong telephone communication and cultural competency skills. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 clearance. Competitive pay : $2835 / hour (rare-language premium). Remote work through secure USCIS-approved platforms. Paid training and continuing professional development. Consistent workflow under a federal contract. Growth opportunities in linguist leadership and quality control. Resume / CV highlighting Pulaar interpreting experience. Any certifications (court, medical, community interpreting credentials preferred). Availability for full-time or contractor assignments.

We are seeking Pulaar Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Pulaar, a Fula / Fulani language spoken in West Africa, is a rare language of interest for asylum and immigration cases, requiring accuracy, cultural understanding, and confidentiality.
