CNC Machinist
D.W. Clark casts engineered alloy components for critical infrastructure and defense. Our mission is to advance how castings are made and the systems they make possible. We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist capable of operating mills and lathes to support the growth and expanding capabilities of our machining operations. The position will primarily entail machine operation, part setup, performing precise dimensional inspection, basic machine maintenance, chip and material handling.

Core Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines
Ensure proper tooling, fixtures, and program selection
Setup and operate manual turning and milling machines
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to understand project specifications and tolerances
Load and unload materials and workpieces into the machines
Measuring and recording dimensional results using calipers and other tools
Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure adherence to quality standards
Accurately document production data, including quantities, dimensions, and any deviations
Meeting or exceeding production schedule expectations
Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and other machinists to optimize processes and resolve issues
Provide feedback for CNC program optimization
Ensuring all quality requirements are met
Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area
Basic machine equipment maintenance
Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions
Support additional roles and tasks as needed
Requirements
High school or equivalent diploma
Minimum of (3) years experience as a machinist
Ability to demonstrate capability in machining setup and operation
Knowledge of CNC programming and G-Code
Strong understanding of machining principles, techniques, and tooling
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T
Experience using precision measuring instruments
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues
Ability to perform machining related math and calculations
Strong attention to detail, thoroughly checks details
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to meet job quality and productivity requirements
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and learn new skills
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that can be hot, dusty, and noisy at times
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, climb, stand, walk, crouch, squat, bend and kneel
Prolonged periods of standing and walking
Ability to perform additional tasks as assigned
Follows all company policies and procedures, including safety, quality and attendance
Communicate effectively
US Citizenship or qualified Permanent Residency is required due to government contracts
