Job description

Associate VP, FM Global Private Equity Real Assets

This position supports the Fund CFO working on the US Real Estate funds. In this capacity, the position is dedicated to executing the Fund Management Operations of the USRE funds (10 funds consisting of five closed end funds, one open-end fund, one continuation fund and three external co-investments). This position is principally focused on investor reporting, portfolio operations, business segment budgeting and forecasting, financial fund modelling, and management reporting. This position also supports the fundraising process and other matters that come up from time to time in the general management and operations of the Fund. In-office requirements : 4 days per week in-office.

Responsibilities

40% of time : Review and execute various business operations of the Funds :

  • Review capital call and distribution notice preparation
  • Review capital call calculations and allocations prepared by Partnership Accounting.
  • Assess and document investment transactions to ensure the investment is appropriate and allowed under the Fund's partnership agreement.
  • Ensure all SOX compliance requirements are thoroughly executed.
  • Work closely with the USRE Asset Management team on budgeting and the tracking of the Fund's profitability, including carried interest projections.
  • Monitor legal compliance with various Fund agreements and arrangements.

20% of time : Investor Relations :

  • Interact with investors on a frequent basis, produce and analyze a variety of ad-hoc investor reports.
  • Respond to various investor-related requests sent by the Carlyle Investor Relations team.
  • Assist in the fundraising process for USRE funds including completing due diligence questionnaires, responding to potential LP requests and updating performance information in the PPM.
  • 25% of time : Support Asset Management, Investment Committee, Fund Heads and Investment Teams :

  • Prepare multi-year operating budget forecasts
  • Prepare materials for the quarterly business review
  • Prepare projected promote forecasts on a quarterly and ad-hoc basis
  • Design and / or review financial models based upon scenarios requested by the fund head
  • Review and coordinate quarterly credit facility reporting
  • 15% of time : Active involvement in the periodic reporting on the performance of the USRE Funds :

  • Final review of quarterly reporting prepared by Partnership Accounting including financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP and General Partner reporting for consolidation.
  • Assist the Partnership Accounting team with the completion of the annual audit of the fund's financial statements
  • Review quarterly long-term forecasts and promote projections.
  • Prepare fund realized carry calculations and supporting sensitivity analysis.
  • Qualifications

    Education & Certificates :

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required

    CPA / CFA preferred

    Professional Experience :

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an accounting, financial, or other relevant capacity.
  • Analytical capabilities and the accounting and financial principles related to private equity and the ability to apply the principles to the tasks at hand
  • Strong and confident communication with Investment Professionals, Investor Relations Professionals, and other Investor Service team member (Internal) as well as Investors and Service Providers (External)
  • Competencies & Attributes :

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint) skills required. (Advanced financial modelling skills preferred)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment and balance multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Self-starter with a willingness to take the lead on tasks
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Benefits / Compensation :

    The compensation range for this role is specific to Washington, DC and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required / preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and / or certifications.

    The anticipated base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $160,000. In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs. Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
