- Maintain compliance with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, and other relevant regulatory standards, prioritizing the privacy and security of health information.
- Keep the collection area organized and sanitary, restocking supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with team leads for the procurement of department supplies.
- Perform all essential phlebotomy duties such as specimen collection, receiving, and sending out tests.
- Prepare specimens for external lab referrals, including paperwork and logistics.
- Execute various patient specimen collections, ensuring integrity and accuracy.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills while engaging with patients, their families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
- Utilize laboratory computer systems for documentation tasks including patient registration and order entry.
- Participate in additional duties as assigned, including on-call duties, inventory management, and special projects.
- Conduct associate performance evaluations and annual competency assessments promptly.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus.Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program with phlebotomy included is preferred.Familiarity with medical terminology, data entry, and organizational skills is essential.Experience
One year of phlebotomy experience is preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) is preferred.Phlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or State licensure is preferred if applicable.Compliance with our License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy is mandatory, requiring all associates to obtain necessary certifications in a timely manner.
