Job Description

Position will be in Hampton, VA at the Center of Excellence overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Machine Shop for HII Unmanned Systems, Inc.

UxS). Coordinate, plan and direct personnel, manage inventory and production schedules and make sure that scheduled deadlines are met.

Responsible for the work flow, processes, work holding, tool holding and maintenance of machinery to ensure the plant operates at maximum efficiency.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Supervises employees who put together component parts to make assemblies, subassemblies, packaging or completed units.

Minimum Qualifications

6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field;

or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience. *MV *SG *TL

Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance #LI-MH1

Preferred Requirements

• Experience leading teams in a high paced work environment
• Experience working with DMG Mori Machine Tools
• Familiar with Siemens OS and NX CAM
• Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred
• Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in using and / or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machine tools
• Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, schematics and manuals
• Knowledge of metal properties and other material
• Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet / floor level.
