SUMMARY : Construction Management Associates is seeking a Construction Estimator with experience in Commercial / Multi-Family Construction projects. Residential experience is a plus. The primary role involves providing accurate take-offs and estimates, preparing final estimates, material take-offs for CMA supplied materials, analyzing bids, reviewing construction documents, and comparing historic data.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Estimate projects based on received bidsAnalyze cost data for products and laborEnsure project requirements are met, including IHDA, WHEDA, Disadvantaged Business requirements, labor and hiring requirements, design criteria, and municipal regulationsPost upcoming projects for bidding, receive bids, and input data into spreadsheetsAnalyze bids for scope coverage and update systems accordinglyAssist with estimating and maintain a cost database for multiple projectsBuild and maintain relationships with suppliers and trade partnersCommunicate project details with team members and trade partnersSupport management with process improvementsQUALIFICATIONS :
Experience as a Construction EstimatorTechnical college degree, 4-year degree, or relevant experience in lieu of degreeKnowledge of new construction, historic renovation, and multi-family projectsUnderstanding of construction methods and codesProficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; familiarity with Building Connected, One Team, PlanGrid, BuilderTrend, and SmartsheetAbility to read architectural, structural, civil, and MEP plansDetail-oriented, organized, and pride in work qualityAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesStrong problem-solving skillsThis description outlines the general duties and requirements.
