Accountant I

The Accountant I will provide key financial support to the accounting team, assisting with high-volume journal entries, month-end close processes, and weekly competitive allowance reporting. This position will temporarily cover responsibilities during a team member's maternity leave and contribute to ongoing accounting projects and process improvements.

Role Overview :

Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close activities

Collaborate with team members on accounting and reporting tasks

Complete weekly reports for competitive allowance accounts

Support ad hoc accounting projects such as vendor prepay and foundation reporting

Assist with financial analysis and reporting tool implementations

Identify and recommend improvements to accounting procedures

Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)

Experience : Minimum 1 year of accounting experience (flexible for the right fit)

Skills & Competencies :

Solid understanding of accounting principles

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, and data management)

Experience with PeopleSoft and / or SAP preferred

Familiarity with the retail agriculture industry a plus
