One of Medix’s top ranked clients is a leading Clinical Research firm on the East Coast. They are seeking a partnership with Medix to onboard a Full Time Director of Information Technology to their team due to growth. This role drives the company’s technology vision, leading innovation, data initiatives, and complex systems implementations to enable business growth and operational excellence.
Serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on complex technology matters including innovation, risk management, security, compliance, and overall technology strategy. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technology trends and innovations relevant to clinical research.
Responsibilities :
- Support the development and execution of a comprehensive technology and innovation strategy that drives excellence in patient recruitment and engagement, study startup and delivery, and shared services across a multi-site organization.
- Lead the implementation of complex enterprise systems (including CTMS, eSource, eRegulatory, GL, CRM & marketing automation, HRIS, and others), leveraging a broad network of subject matter experts to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Lead infrastructure implementations and acquisition related projects including setting up, decommissioning, implementing, and expanding technical services across organization’s environments
- Support acquisition initiatives and direct post-acquisition consolidation and system integration efforts to achieve operational synergies and build a scalable platform for growth.
- Attract, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of technology professionals while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Develop and manage the annual IT operating budget to align with organizational objectives, ensuring effective performance and service delivery across all technology operations.
- Establish and implement IT policies and procedures that safeguard data confidentiality, security, availability, and integrity across all systems and networks.
- Develop and lead an Information Security program, partnering with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, CCPA) and proactively mitigate security and privacy risks.
- Build and maintain a network of IT vendors to support a hybrid partner model, enabling the development of cloud-based infrastructure, telecommunications systems, and a responsive service desk to ensure stable and reliable IT operations.
- Assume overall ownership of IT operations, ensuring that production issues are addressed and resolved promptly—even beyond standard working hours when necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field required.A minimum of 8+ years of progressive IT leadership experience working within either a healthcare setting with an EMR / EHR system OR prior clinical research firm experienceExperience working within a regulated environment (ie Healthcare, LIfe Sciences, or Clinical Research)Strong understanding of HIPAA, data privacy, and regulatory requirements within the clinical research industry.Experience managing, overseeing, and being apart of multiple infrastructure migration & implementation projectsPrior Project Management experienceIn-depth knowledge of information security, network and systems operations, and software development lifecycles.Collaborative leadership style with a track record of building trusted relationships across teams and stakeholders.
