About the College / Unit / Department
The University of Georgia is establishing a new independent School of Medicine in Athens, building on the Augusta University / University of Georgia Medical Partnership. The School of Medicine will be located on UGA's Health Sciences Campus in Athens, and the Medical Partnership currently enrolls 60 students per class, with plans to grow to 120 per class in the future.
The University of Georgia School of Medicine has been formally recognized as an applicant for accreditation after being granted Applicant Status by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).

Position Summary
The Laboratory Research Technician I is a member of the Zavros laboratory and assists medical research efforts by cleaning, repairing and providing maintenance on a variety of medical and lab devices and equipment. Responsibilities include regular equipment checks, testing, inspecting, calibrating, and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions. The position also completes detailed documentation to report and monitor the condition of the lab equipment.
