Lead comprehensive application and infrastructure discovery across on-premises, including servers, databases, load balancers, NFS mount points, dependencies, integrations, and data flows.
Develop and maintain a living application inventory with clear business and technical metadata to guide migration prioritization.
Conduct interviews and workshops with application owners, SMEs, security, and business partners to clarify usage patterns, SLAs, integration points, and operational considerations.
Analyze application architectures, technology stacks, deployment patterns, and hosting models to determine migration readiness and fit to Azure landing zones.
Design logical move groups and migration waves that minimize risk, reduce interdependency friction, and create efficient cut over paths.
Recommend modernization or remediation approaches where gaps exist (e.g., refactor, replatform, retire, containerize).
Partner with Cloud Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and PMO to ensure alignment of strategy, timelines, and sequencing.
Generate and communicate target-state architecture blueprints, reference diagrams, and run books to enable execution teams.
Build strong relationships across business and engineering groups to ensure adoption and shared ownership of migration outcomes.
Qualifications
Proven application architecture, cloud migration planning, or infrastructure solutions, ideally within enterprise-scale environments.
Proven experience conducting discovery and dependency mapping for multi-tier, integrated application landscapes.
Strong understanding of Azure services, landing zone concepts, identity, networking, and platform governance.
Ability to reason about technical interdependencies and articulate “why these apps move together” based on data, integration topology, performance, and business timing.
Confident communicator who can engage both business stakeholders and deep technical engineers; able to translate complexity into clear, actionable direction.
Experience with common tooling such as ServiceNow CMDB, Azure Migrate, Cloudamize, Tidal, Device42, or equivalent platforms.
Demonstrated ability to develop structured wave plans, sequencing maps, and migration path recommendations.
High EQ and collaboration orientation — able to drive clarity in environments where application documentation may be incomplete.

Proven experience in automating infrastructure with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
Strong expertise in architecture and implementing high-performance, fault-tolerant infrastructure solutions that meet stringent latency, availability, and uptime requirements.
Solid experience in configuring and managing load balancers, IAM Roles, EC2 instances, auto scaling groups, API management tools, and caching technologies.
Experience with Kubernetes and Docker for containerized deployments.
Experience with application and infrastructure security principles and best practices.
Have a proven ability to delegate work effectively while maintaining oversight.
