Responsibilities Work in a hospital setting as part of the Resource Pool Float team Float between all Progressive Care (PCU) and Medical-Surgical (MS) units based on hospital needs Staffing assignments may change every 4 hours according to the hospital staffing office Night shift schedule : 3x12 hour shifts, 18 : 45-07 : 15, with an option for 4x12 hour shifts upon request Typical patient ratios are 5 : 1 for PCU and 6-7 : 1 for MS units Epic EMR experience required for this position No on-call requirements Travelers are required to work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment and two holidays during winter holidays All requested time off (RTO) must be provided up front; Christmas holiday time off cannot be approved Modules may be completed pre-start or during orientation and are paid based on completion and facility approval Local candidates (within 100 miles) are not accepted, with limited exceptions for those living 50-99.9 miles away, who may do one 13-week contract without extension eligibility Return travelers must have a minimum one-year separation from prior employment at this health system before being eligible to return as a traveler Travelers who have worked 365 days can no longer return, regardless of separation period, except for cases ending prior to July 1, 2025, under which a six-month break is allowed Requirements Active RN license valid in VA or an active compact state license Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Experience working in PCU and MS units Comfortable floating to all PCU and MS units Epic EMR experience required Two recent references required Copy of Driver's License and Social Security Number required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624662.
