The Global Brand Public Relations team functions as an in-house agency, supporting the diverse brands within The House of Suntory portfolio including Hibiki, Yamazaki, Hakushu and Toki whiskies, as well as Roku Gin and Haku Vodka. Reporting to the Director of Global Brand Public Relations for The House of Suntory, this role is embedded within the Global and U.S. marketing teams to support our premium spirits brands. The Manager is responsible for delivering innovative global public relations campaigns, programs and events that align with annual brand strategies and growth objectives.

Role Responsibilities

Motivated self-starter, a strong writer and communicator, a natural team player, and a strategic and creative manager with a passion for integrating brands into culture.

Develops global public relations strategies to drive programs and events that support annual brand plans and strategic growth objectives.

Produces program-specific tool kits for global regions to execute PR programs in their markets.

Creates compelling pitches, content, and media angles that generate coverage across traditional, digital, and social media platforms.

Maintains strong, positive relationships with consumer and trade media on behalf of the brands and the company, cultivating connections with key journalists and influencers.

Develops and nurtures relationships with key influencers and tastemakers, integrating them into relevant strategies.

Collaborates with digital and social media teams to ensure a cohesive approach to driving brand visibility.

Effectively manages public relations agencies throughout all phases, from creative development to program execution and evaluation.

Prepares and manages public relations budgets as part of the yearly planning process.

Writes media releases, correspondence, speeches, and presentations related to assigned brands and company initiatives. Contributes content to the company intranet, extranet and social channels in collaboration with the Corporate Communications team.

Oversees the execution of regional and special events globally for both press and customers.

Works with key spokespeople to facilitate press and event needs, including messaging, speeches, schedules and product requirements.

Measures media impact, ensuring campaigns meet objectives and communicate results internally.

Collaborates with the Corporate Communications team to develop corporate campaigns for brands, including spokesperson media training and internal / external communications.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in luxury / consumer brand PR, preferably in a global role within an agency or in-house; experience in the spirits industry and familiarity with Japanese culture is a plus but not required.

Proven track record of delivering best-in-class consumer public relations campaigns.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Understanding of global cultures, traditions and consumer mindsets.

High taste level and understanding of luxury and consumer brands and their audiences.

Experience with events of all sizes, for both press and customers.

Connected to key influencers, tastemakers and industry decision-makers.

Strong media relations skills and a deep understanding of various media channels.

Articulate speaker with exceptional presentation skills.

Ability to represent brands internally and externally at all organizational levels.

Process-oriented with strong budget planning capabilities.

Collaborative style, adept at working in cross-functional teams to build consensus.

Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate a matrixed organization.

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while thriving in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

Willingness to travel, including global travel up to 20% of the time.

Understanding of a highly regulated industry is a plus.

Salary Range - The salary range for this role, based in New York, NY is $100k-105k, along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits.
