Position Summary :
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business and maintaining relationships with existing customers in the construction, remodeling, and home improvement industries. This role requires a self-motivated, customer-focused individual who can identify opportunities, provide expert product knowledge, and deliver value-added solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, builders, remodelers, and other trade professionals.
- Promote and sell Reading Lumber’s full line of building materials, including lumber, siding, roofing, windows, doors, and specialty products.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess customer needs, provide quotes, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Prepare and follow up on estimates, bids, and proposals.
- Collaborate with inside sales, purchasing, and delivery team to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of product lines, pricing, and market trends.
- Achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
- Represent Reading Lumber professionally at trade shows, networking events, and customer appreciation events.
- Resolve customer issues quickly and effectively, ensuring long-term satisfaction.
Qualifications :
Proven experience in building materials sales, construction supply, or a related field (preferred).Strong knowledge of lumber, roofing, siding, windows, doors, and other building products.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Highly motivated, organized, and able to work independently.Valid driver’s licenseBenefits :
