The potential income for this role is an hourly rate of $19- $24 per hour. The pay rate for each individual is based on tenure in the field of veterinary medicine, and certification.
Responsibilities :
Veterinary Technicians at Lakeland Animal Clinic are responsible for :
- Patient Care
- Venipuncture
- IV catheter placement
- Obtaining radiographs
- Running in-house diagnostic testing
- IV fluid therapy
- Surgical assisting and post-operative care
- Client education and communication
- Safe, low-stress pet restraint
- Maintaining hospital cleanliness as part of a team.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for our Veterinary Technician role must :
- have a minimum of 1 year of veterinary technician experience; technicians with certification are preferred
- have the ability to adhere to the attendance policy
- have any allergies to animals controllable through medication
- be able to lift 40 pounds
- have visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written directions
- have the ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person and over the telephone
- have fine motor skills adequate for nursing skills such as phlebotomy and utilizing hospital equipment
