Description
The Public Works Asset Management Analyst oversees methods for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data. This position creates and maintains complex statistical reports, dashboards, and maps using asset software such as ESRI and Cityworks. The role edits and updates database layers for Town infrastructure and administers the Cityworks asset management program. Responsibilities include developing and coordinating asset data collection in support of the Public Works strategic plan, work prioritization, and daily operations for water, wastewater, streets, storm drainage, and other public works functions.
Examples of Duties
- Manage Public Works assets through administration of the Cityworks work order system and Storeroom asset management software, including database design and data uploads.
- Updates and maintains datasets using GIS software; edits and modifies database layers for Town infrastructure.
- Performs quality checks on GIS data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Researches and interprets engineering construction plans, plats, legal metes-and-bounds descriptions, and other mapped information; extracts relevant data for entry and performs calculations and computations.
- Participates in field data collection for GIS, including data conversion, organization, and report / map generation.
- Collects and organizes departmental data using tools such as Microsoft Excel and SQL Management Studio.
- Prepares reports and expenditure details to measure current efforts, forecast future needs, and identify efficiency opportunities.
- Assists in maintaining the SCADA system for pumping, water, and wastewater infrastructure, including remote monitoring and operation of electric feeders.
- Performs specialized programming and troubleshooting of SCADA system remote units.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computerized Control Systems, GIS / Asset Management, or a related field.At least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience using ESRI software.In lieu of an associate's degree, at least four (4) years of work experience in public works asset management or GIS is required.Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and driving record must comply with Town policy.Desired Qualifications
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise applications for editing, updating, and producing maps, reports, and graphs.Working knowledge of GIS concepts, database design, data management, and quality control methods, including algebra, geometry, and statistics for GIS computations.Familiarity with asset management and related software such as Cityworks, Microsoft SQL Server, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications.Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities with a proven work ethic and high professional integrity.Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, gather and interpret technical data, and present findings clearly to support data-driven decision-making and strategic planning.Physical Abilities
