This is a full-time position located in Portland, ME and allows for partial telework with management approval.

Core Responsibilities :

This position is professional social services work of a supervisory nature in directing, overseeing, and reviewing the work and activities of a unit of Caseworkers and Community Response Workers who operate a 24 / 7 Crisis Prevention / Intervention system that support adults with intellectual disabilities, autism and brain injuries. This position is located out of the Portland DHHS office for OADS.

As a Crisis Services Team Leader, you will :

  • Plan, organize, direct and monitor crisis prevention and intervention service activities.
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with public and private stakeholders.
  • Assure that services are provided in accordance with statutes, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Participate in community work groups, committees, and boards to promote agency goals, objectives, and services.
  • Review and compare work performance / productivity of subordinate staff on a regular basis within established standards. Provide feedback to subordinate staff to improve performance / productivity, efficiency and provide opportunities for growth.
  • Engage in review and approval of behavior management and safety plans as needed.
  • Provide public guardianship decision making coverage, after hours on a rotating basis.
  • Provide oversight of admission and discharge activity for the state operated crisis house.
  • Work with colleagues to utilize crisis resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and trainings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Minimum Qualifications :

    An eight (8) year combination of education and / or professional experience in social services to include two (2) years of related program management experience.

    An active Social Work license (LSW), as issued by the Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure, is required.

    The background of well-qualified candidates will include :

  • 3 years of supervisory experience in the Social Services Field.
  • Experience as an IDD Community Case Manager.
  • Experience working with adults with Intellectual Disabilities (IDD), Autism, or dual diagnosed mental health / IDD Autism, and brain injuries.
