PCU Registered Nurse Job Details Location : Johnson City, TN 37604 (East Tennessee healthcare jobs) Unit : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Adult patient population Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 9 / 2025 – End : 2 / 8 / 2026) Shift : Night shifts, 12 hours (18 : 30 – 07 : 00); options for 3x12 or 4x12 per week Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $2020-$2070 Weekend / Holiday Coverage : Rotating weekends and holidays required Orientation : 16 hours (nonbillable), plus modules completed during orientation Employment Type : Travel nursing contract Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, progressive care, or acute care nursing experience Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state) AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Epic charting experience preferred Permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from Johnson City, TN Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted) Ability to complete drug testing and fit testing prior to start BSN required for international travel nurses PCU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the Progressive Care Unit, managing a 1 : 5 patient ratio Float to other hospital units as needed based on census and staffing needs Support clinical education and mentor nursing students Administer and manage cardiac drips, blood products, and complex medication protocols Perform and interpret cardiac telemetry, arterial blood gases, and dysrhythmias Care for central lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and PICC lines Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response Maintain strict adherence to isolation precautions and infection control standards Discover rewarding Tennessee nursing jobs and experience the charm of Johnson City while making a difference in patient care.
