Key Responsibilities

Teach the course MSTE 475-02 / 575-02 focusing on health and physical education concepts

Emphasize current health issues for children and adolescents within the context of child development

Implement curricular strategies to promote healthful behaviors and instruction based on California's Health and Physical Education Frameworks

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree in Education or a related field

5+ years of experience teaching health and / or physical education in K-12 settings

Knowledge of child development related to health, wellness, and physical activity

Familiarity with California's Health Education Framework and Physical Education Framework for elementary grades

Knowledge of developmentally appropriate instructional strategies for promoting healthful behaviors in young children
