Compensation Range : $75,000 - $85,000 / Annually

Range(s) – DOE

PURPOSE

The Culinary Manager is responsible for oversight of the complete back of house operation, including controlling all food-related costs, back of house team member labor costs, food quality, and overall condition of the kitchen area.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform daily line check and safety walk-throughs
  • Responsible for food budget and cost control of food and labor
  • Investigate and review all sub-standard food with BOH team
  • Review supplier goods prices monthly
  • Monitor food waste and implement solutions to minimize waste
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Chef on menu development and engineering
  • Ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and is well-stocked
  • Foster an environment of trust and respect
  • Manage the full lifecycle of team members : hiring, training, coaching, skill development, and terminations
  • Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, guest service, and cost control
  • Manage staffing levels and controllable costs within budget
  • Complete nightly logs and manager reports
  • Monitor and enforce inventory controls
  • Keep menu and allergen information up to date
  • Build relationships with regular guests and encourage repeat business
  • Address guest concerns and resolve complaints
  • Comply with safety, health, and liquor laws
  • Maintain safety and sanitation standards
  • Ensure proper checkout procedures
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned
  • Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts preferred
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 21+ years old
  • State work cards as required
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Proficient in Windows MS Office, Open Table, Outlook
  • Knowledge of profitability analysis, budgeting, cost controls
  • Knowledge of labor and health laws
  • Experience with POS systems
  • Proper lifting techniques
  • Guest relations skills
  • Sanitation and safety knowledge
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • WORKING CONDITIONS

    Conditions include indoor / outdoor work, exposure to hot / cold surfaces, noise, crowds, smoke, and fast-paced environment. Shifts may vary to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

    Physical Requirements

    Must be able to walk and stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks such as reaching, climbing, and crouching.
