Overview :
The Facility Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant production environment that supports operational excellence and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in establishing and optimizing systems for facility cleanliness, material flow, equipment upkeep, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate brings experience from food or CPG manufacturing and is energized by building strong systems and teams from the ground up.
Responsibilities :
- Help move & commission equipment to new facility; work closely with COO to operationalize new facility
- Develop and implement facility-wide cleaning, sanitation, and organizational systems with our FSQA team in compliance with SQF, GMP, FDA, and HACCP regulations.
- Establish and maintain an environment that promotes efficiency, cleanliness, and operational consistency across production, storage, and support areas.
- Design and manage a master sanitation schedule and cleaning protocols that align with production workflows and audit readiness.
- Oversee day-to-day facility upkeep, including waste management, utilities, workspaces, restocking stations, and supply areas.
- Work closely with Production, QA, and Supply Chain to ensure physical space and organization support efficient and safe workflows.
- Lead custodial and maintenance staff; provide coaching, support, and accountability aligned with company goals.
- Implement and improve 5S or similar organizational frameworks to minimize waste and improve workplace safety and performance.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors (e.g., HVAC, pest control, janitorial, equipment service) to maintain standards and service schedules.
- Own facility documentation and participate in audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and addressing inefficiencies in facility processes and layout.
Qualifications :
3+ years in facility management within food, cpg or beverage manufacturingKnowledge of GMP, HACCP, SQF, and FDA regulationsExperience with cleaning / sanitation systems and audit readinessProficient in maintaining facility documentation, schedules, and compliance logsSkilled in facility organization, waste management, and material flow organizationStrong cross-functional collaboration (Production, QA, Supply Chain)Hands-on, detail-oriented, and process-drivenComfortable in fast-paced, startup-like environmentsProactive mindset focused on continuous improvementBenefits :
