GDPS Engineer - 6 month contract-to-hire

100% Remote - candidates must be located within the United States.

Not able to support candidates that require sponsorship at this time.

NO C2C WILL BE ALLOWED

Position Overview

You will be focused on providing high availability, highly resilient, and disaster recovery solutions for mainframe clients. You will work closely with the customer to establish an environment for this solution, customizing it for their needs. You will establish test plans and assist with failover testing as well as provide long term support for BCP / DR events.

We are looking for a seasoned GDPS Engineer with deep expertise in :

GDPS (Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex)

NetView / SA

Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery (BCP / DR) practices

Nice-to-Have Skills (Bonus Points!)

While not required, any experience with the following is a plus :

Pervasive Encryption

IBM DS8K hardware / DSCLI commands

Copy Services Manager (CSM)

Logical Copy Protection (LCP) / Safeguarded Copy

RESTful API integration

REXX or Python scripting

VM / XDR exposure

Ideal Background

Likely to come from a Mainframe Storage Engineer background

Industry : Financial services , government, or large-scale enterprise (JPMC, Wells Fargo, AMEX, IRS, etc.)

Minimum of 5 years dedicated GDPS experience (not just storage), ideally closer to 10

Experience working as a consultant is a strong plus
