Utilities Fuel Procurement Administrator
The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Utilities Fuel Procurement Administrator position. The Utilities Fuel Procurement Administrator is responsible for purchasing and making recommendations regarding purchasing natural gas. Work includes analyzing market trends, monitoring price fluctuations, contract administration (for supply, transportation and storage), calculating monthly gas costs and recommending gas commodity rates and formulating budgets for total gas costs. In addition employee will provide customer support and technical assistance to the City's highest volume industrial accounts and users, reconcile monthly Transportation Service volume balances and help attract and retain customers. Day to day duties include collecting, summarizing, and analyzing gas flows, gas prices, and forecasting short term and long term natural gas purchases. In addition, the Utility Fuel Procurement Administrator will respond to customer inquiries and review customer flows to ensure they are in an appropriate rate class.

The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, crouch, crawl, walk, feel and use substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers. In terms of the physical strength to perform the essential duties, this classification is considered to be sedentary, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
