Windows Support Tech
Location : Hybrid after 90 days
Salary : $45k / year + comprehensive benefits package
Clearance : Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (US Citizenship required)
Summary
The selected candidate will prepare hardware to start the testing process by deploying the requested images and installing the requested software and all prerequisites / dependencies. The selected candidate will occasionally need to work with various support teams while troubleshooting issues.
New hires are expected to be 100% onsite in Alexandria, VA for the first 90 days and then the role will be hybrid with 2 days onsite, 3 days remote.
Job Duties
- Designate and assign hardware to a specific test case
- Image hardware with specified baselines
- Install software to be tested, along with any prerequisites or dependencies
- Verify that software has been successfully installed via instructions provided from developers
- Troubleshoot all imaging / software / hardware related issues
- Communicate with various support teams as needed to prepare test cases
- Prioritizes tasks appropriately
- Create new and update existing documentation detailing procedures and processes
- Maintain a professional manner when dealing with users, clients, colleagues and managers
- Willing to take on new responsibilities to meet changing business demands
- Attention to detail when performing job functions
- Develop and execute systems documentation and a basic set of operating procedures for the day-to-day maintenance of systems
- Strong written / verbal communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Provide technical support to end users and install the software application as needed by developers on physical and virtual machines
Required Experience
1-3 Years of experienceExperience imaging workstations via Pre-boot Execution Environment (PXE)Experience deploying hardwareExperience installing and troubleshooting the installation of software using various methodsKnowledge of workstation and laptop componentsExperience with Windows 10Experience troubleshooting Operating System related issuesUSB technology and how it is used in HW, such as a PC, laptop, or other deviceIP issues for workstations / switches such as static versus DHCP assignmentExperience with Network Access Control (NAC)Experience tracking work in ticketing systems, such as ITSM / ServiceNowAbility to work effectively with little direct supervision and the ability to research and address unique hardware / software technical problems is requiredProvide technical support to end users and install the software application as needed by developers on physical and virtual machinesExperience with deployment and configuration of Virtual Workstations (VM)Desired Experience
Experience utilizing Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) or other deployment toolsExperience imaging workstations using a deployment tool, such as MECM or MDTExperience in creating and moving computer object in Active DirectoryCertifications
Desired : Technical certifications (A+, Network+, Windows 10 Certifications, or similar)Education & Special Training
Bachelor's degree in technical field preferred.
