Job Summary :
The Structural Engineer is responsible for the design and analysis of track and structure systems for major amusement rides and roller coasters.
Responsibilities :
Assist in definition and selection of structural and track systems, including layout requirements, concept generation, and design review.
Perform strength and fatigue analysis of structures and components using common structural analysis tools, finite element analysis (FEA) and typical AISC calculations.
Document quality requirements for track and structure to assure conformance to design intention for accelerations / ASTM requirements, in addition to structural integrity.
Create structural analysis reports to document ride component strength and fatigue life conforming to industry and local code requirements.
Participate in or lead engineering design reviews with customers and 3rd-party reviewers.
Assists with budgeting, fabrication queries, and installation and service issues.
Other duties may include research and development, and team leadership and / or management of designers, drafters, and other engineers.

The employee must possess the essential knowledge and skills described below.
Requirements :
BS or MS in civil or structural engineering.
1-2 years practical post-grad experience in structural steel design, fatigue / stress analysis, and calculations using AISC standards.
Professional Engineering (P.E.) license, or ability to obtain it within one year of employment.
Solid computer skills, including AutoCad, RISA or other common structural engineering software.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with engineering team members and customers.
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally occasionally as required.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years practical post-grad experience in performing structural design and analysis, especially in the amusement or similar industry.
Structural Engineering (S.E.) license (CA and UT preferred), NCEES Record for Comity.
Design experience in multiple-disciplinary projects, coordinating with mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering processes.
Experience with international design standards.
Experience with SolidWorks / 3D modeling software.
