A leading, independently owned insurance and risk advisory firm is seeking a Sales Executive to join their dynamic Employee Benefits team. This full‑time, hybrid position in Chicago, IL offers the opportunity to work with a respected organization that prioritizes client relationships, professional development, and employee ownership.
As part of a high‑performing sales and advisory team, you’ll be responsible for developing new business, managing client relationships, and leading strategic risk management efforts for complex accounts in the Employee Benefits space.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively prospect and develop new client relationships via referrals, networking, and professional partnerships.
- Utilize company sales tools and personal networks to identify and pursue new opportunities.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline (minimum 3x annual sales goal).
- Coordinate with internal teams to identify cross‑selling opportunities.
Client Relationship Management
Serve as a primary contact for clients, supported by dedicated service team members.Lead strategy development for complex insurance programs and renewals.Analyze risk, coverage options, and recommend tailored solutions.Present insurance terms and proposals clearly and confidently to clients.Industry Expertise & Collaboration
Stay current on carrier offerings, market trends, and regulatory updates.Work closely with internal service teams to deliver a seamless client experience.Contribute to a culture of learning, growth, and high performance.What You Bring
5+ years of sales or consulting experience in insurance or a professional services industry.Proven ability to develop and grow a book of business.Strong presentation, negotiation, and client communication skills.Experience working independently and collaboratively within a team structure.Comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).Bachelor's degree preferred.Life & Health license preferred, or ability to obtain within 60 days.CEBS designation a plus.Seniority Level
