Insurance Carrier Marketing Manager
The Marketing Manager oversees agency marketing and the carrier’s goals for each territory in the Pacific Northwest. You will be responsible for managing the daily business relationship between the insurance company and agents, maintaining strong agency relationships, assisting with the development of new products and services and managing education and training of marketing staff.
- Supervisory Responsibilities – You will directly supervise 1-4 employees which may include marketing representatives, coordinators and assistants. Duties include monitoring of daily workflow, attendance, personnel issues, approving time off requests, recommending disciplinary actions. Employs independent judgment to direct the workforce in maintaining a strong awareness of customer needs and requirements.
- Ten years’ commercial insurance experience is preferred with an emphasis on leading staff in a professional manner. Leveraging local presence and personal knowledge of agents and brokers to support mutual growth and profit is key. Must be detail oriented with the ability to coach and motivate. Strong work ethic is paramount as is accuracy in all communications verbal and written.
- Communicates all company positions related to products, forms and underwriting appetite.
- Conceptualizes and develops marketing plans with input from internal teams.
- Stays abreast of market trends, competitor offerings and regulatory changes.
- Gathers competitive intelligence, analyzing its effect on the territory.
- Develops and maintains technical knowledge of all company proprietary systems, procedures and products.
- Oversees the development of targeted marketing campaigns.
- Has primary responsibility for the management of agency acquisitions, processing all documentation in accordance with instructions from purchasing entity.
- Schedules appointments to visit existing, and where applicable, prospective agents in the assigned territory. Generates call reports summarizing all appointments.
- Travels within the territory including overnight travel as necessary to accomplish all visits to agents within each segment of the territory.
- Provides recommendations for enhanced agency relationships and agency recognition.
- Arranges and attends periodic social events for agents as directed by senior management.
- Attends trade shows and social events promoting the company.
- Updates sales reports monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Assists in the development of new products and redevelopment of existing products and programs.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and related software.
