Clinical Pharmacist II - Critical Care

General Summary of Position

MedStar Washington Hospital Center is looking for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist II to join our passionate, patient-focused Critical Care team.

This is a full-time position with a rotating schedule, including rotating weekends. Ideal candidate will be a dedicated critical care pharmacist looking for challenges andopportunity to learn, grow, and encounter unique ICU cases in the followingspecialties : Heart and vascular, Trauma, Burn, Neuro, General surgery,surgical Oncology, MICU (Medical ICU).

In addition, we are heavily Surgical ICUand engaged heavily in perioperative & procedural area care (Intraop / postop. (PACU)) & Anesthesia services.

Provides pharmaceutical care to assigned patients under the supervision of a more senior clinical pharmacist / manager. Evaluates and interprets physician orders and dispenses medication and other pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with established operational procedures, professional standards or practice as well as state and district and Federal laws.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree or equivalent Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy required

PGY-1 or 3 years of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting required

Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.

PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in DC Required

Board certification within one year of eligibility within 1 Year Required
