We are seeking an experienced, hands-on traveling Building Maintenance Engineer to work in several large commercial office buildings in in the Madison Heights, Troy, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Farmington Hills, Novi, Canton, Plymouth, MI areas.
The job may also entail service calls to other local buildings in Southeast Michigan. All applicants must have experience in maintaining small to large commercial office buildings. This position is part-time.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :
- Ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine cause of problem or malfunction and take corrective action.
- Perform minor repairs and / or oversee repairs and maintenance work performed by contracted vendors.
- Participate in facilities remodeling or new construction and other renovation activities.
- Perform various maintenance tasks for tenants as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and repairs when required.
- Respond to AFTER HOURS emergency calls from the facility (this is rare. Maybe only a couple of times a year).
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS :
- High School diploma or equivalent. MINIMUM 3+ years hands-on maintenance experience in a COMMERCIAL setting.
- HVAC and Mechanical certifications are helpful but not required.
- Must have excellent troubleshooting ability.
- Basic computer skills including use of email required.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
- Must have your own transportation to travel from job site to job site, and your own basic tools (some tools are provided).
