Warehouse Associate
You will have a hands-on role in our warehouse to ensure delivery of our vast product line to our valued customers. You will : load, unload, and move product by hand or by skid; operate basic warehouse vehicles (i.e., electric pallet jack and / or forklift); operate advanced warehouse vehicles (i.e., turret truck and / or order picker); visually inspect boxes for damage or improper packaging; put away product into racks and bins; count items; update warehouse computer systems using warehouse specific commands and functions; enter data; move SKU's throughout the facility as required; support the safety culture by following established SOP's; engage in the local safety culture through safety team support and offering safety suggestions; assist department supervisors in identifying risk to associates or the business and mitigate those risks; repair damaged bins; foster the MSC culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC's mission; contact MSC departments to resolve discrepancies; prepare, repair and build shelves, labels and identify shelves for stock; set bin capacities and configurations; perform preventative maintenance tasks on warehouse equipment; verify products using item numbers, descriptions, and quantity; create bar code labels using MSC item numbers; stage product for put away bins, overstock or racks; and in order to meet customer service requirements, associates can be temporarily re-assigned to other warehouse functions. Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
The motivated individual we seek should have the following qualifications : high school diploma or the equivalent required; must obtain MSC license to drive warehouse vehicles within specified time requirements; basic computer literacy required; knowledge of tools required; physical demands to successfully perform essential job functions (reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities) : standing, walking, lifting materials up to 75 pounds (individual or team), carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, climbing using legs and arms, balancing, stooping, kneeling, repeated bends, reaching high and low, repetitive twisting or pressure involving wrist and hands, hearing, seeing (depth perception and peripheral vision), mental coordination, mental alertness for entire shift, ability to wear personal protective equipment as required, and ability to operate at heights up to 50 feet.
