The Role
We're hiring an Estimator IV to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. This is a senior-level position reporting to the PMO Program Controls Manager and Chief Estimator. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing detailed construction cost estimates, particularly for change orders and extra work proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare construction cost estimates from drawings, outlines, and specifications
Evaluate contractor cost proposals for accuracy and completeness
Develop scope of work and independent cost estimates
Conduct site visits to gather project-specific estimating data
Compare contractor bids to internal estimates to identify discrepancies
Analyze labor, material, equipment, and vendor data
Prepare technical evaluations, memos, and recommendation reports
Use the eGordian database for JOC estimating (preferred)
Apply knowledge of RS Means, NECA, and MCAA productivity rates (preferred)

The Person
10-15 years of professional experience in construction cost estimating, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
BS / BA in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Business
Strong knowledge of building construction methods (types I, II, III, and V)
Expert in JOC contracting and construction cost estimating principles
Familiar with CSI MasterFormat (UniFormat is a plus)
Skilled in using RS Means and eGordian tools (preferred)
Knowledge of prevailing wage and union labor rates (preferred)
