About the role

Position : Eligibility & Enrollment Specialist

Reports to : Manager, Eligibility & Enrollment Specialist

Department : Children & Family Services

Pay Rate : $31.25-$33.50

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Eligibility & Enrollment, the Eligibility & Enrollment Specialist plays a critical role in supporting enrollment processes and ensuring compliance with eligibility, selection, and enrollment requirements. This position is responsible for accurately entering and maintaining family enrollment data in the agency's database systems while providing direct support to families throughout the enrollment and certification process. Additionally, the Eligibility & Enrollment Specialist assists with translation services and coordinates with internal teams to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.

Enrollment & Certification

• Assist families with enrollment, including verifying income, job status, family needs, and schedules.
• Conduct interviews and certify eligibility for new enrollees in both Head Start (HS) and California Department of Education (CDE) programs.
• Recertify existing families and follow up on missing documents for certification files.
• Ensure enrollment packages are complete and distribute required forms to family advocates.
• Scan and archive eligibility files into DocuWare.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state eligibility guidelines.
