Financial Manager (Environmental Specialist 4) (Internal Only)

This recruitment is open only to current Department of Ecology employees, including those on temporary or project assignments, and Ecology's Washington Conservation Corps members. The Shorelands & Environmental Assistance (SEA) program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Financial Manager (Environmental Specialist 4) position.
Location : Headquarters Office in Lacey, WA. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.
Schedule : This position is eligible for telework and flexible schedule options. Schedules are dependent upon position needs and are subject to change.

In this role, you will support both Ecology's mission and the SEA Program's mission by guiding two of our most dynamic sections Applied Coastal Research and Engineering (ACRE) and Washington Conservation Corps (WCC). You will provide both technical and financial expertise, helping staff successfully manage federal grants, receivable agreements, and payable contracts that keep critical projects moving forward.
As an Environmental Specialist 4, you will work under the general supervision of SEA's section managers and collaborate with Ecology's Financial Services, regional offices, local governments, other state agencies, and federal partners. You will independently manage the full lifecycle of financial agreements from application to project completion ensuring compliance with state statutes, rules, and policies.

Required Qualifications : Nine (9) years of experience and / or education as described below :
Experience : in environmental analysis, or environmental planning, or other allied field. Other allied field may include finance, grant and financial management for environmental agencies or assisting environmental sectors with financial and budgeting requirements.
Education : involving a major study in environmental, physical, or one of the natural sciences, environmental planning, finance, accounting, economics or other allied field.
