The most recent language offering in the Department of Modern Languages is American Sign Language, which was added in 2016.

Pedagogically too, in the past three decades, the Department has led with the creation of curricula designed specifically for heritage speakers of Spanish, the development of the Spanish Writing and Translation Community Center, the organization of comprehensive tutoring across all of our language offerings, and the development of the Language Acquisition Center to make our curricula among the most Internet- and media-rich learning experiences on campus.
