DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a seasoned State Affairs Manager to join our growing public policy team at Pontera. In this position you'll be responsible for developing and managing relationships with state securities commissions and their staff, ensuring they understand Pontera's platform and how it benefits advisors and retirement savers. You will also build relationships with state Attorneys General offices and relevant officials overseeing securities and investment advice in the state. You will partner with our Federal Affairs function to ensure strong alignment that supports retirement savers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement Pontera's state policy strategy, working cross-functionally with senior leaders across our policy, legal, marketing and sales teams
- Develop a strong understanding of business priorities and regulatory and legislative trends to inform our strategy and engagement
- Provide guidance and insight to leadership and sales team regarding state regulatory and policy talking points
- Provide demonstrations and trainings to state securities commissions, ensuring they understand how Pontera works and protects retirement savers
- Representing Pontera with third party advocates to influence local policy makers at the state government level to advance regulatory strategy
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working with regulators and elected officials in the financial services or fintech spaceBachelor's degree in a relevant field (public policy, political science, etc.) or equivalent practical experienceExcellent communication and presentation skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholdersStrong track record of managing high-stakes policy issues and building relationships with financial regulators at both the state and local levelAbility to operate cross functionally in a way that enables you to manage internal and external processes and stakeholdersWillingness to travel 4-8 days per monthPreferred : understanding of financial technology and / or investment adviceWHAT WE OFFER
