The successful candidate forthis position will be a 1099 contractor with Music MinistryInternational and be responsible for thefollowing :

McConnell AFB islooking to procure the services of a Catholic Religious EducationDirector. The qualifications are as follows :

1.0Experience and Qualifications

1.1.1 Be acertified catechist of the Arch Diocese for Military Services orhave at least 35 years teaching experience in Catholic ReligiousEducation (RE) or at least two years experience as an RECoordinator.

If not currently certified by the Archdiocese for theMilitary Services the Coordinator must enroll and be activelyworking toward Archdiocesan Certification.

1.1.2Have a comprehensive knowledge of Roman Catholic teachingsreligious rites ceremonies and traditions. The Catholic ReligiousEducation Coordinator must profess and uphold the teachings andtraditions of the Catholic Church.

1.1.3 Musthave the educational and administrative skills to organize andmanage the entire Catholic Religious Education Program forPreschool through High School.

1.1.4 Be able towork within the pluralistic environment of the Air Force ChaplainCorps. Will preferably have some knowledge and experience workingwithin US Military establishments.

1.1.5 Be ableto maintain professional relationships with teachers / assistantsstudents chapel staff and public schoolstaff.

1.1.6 Undergo a government backgroundinvestigation (at government expense) in accordance with Departmentof Defense Instruction 1402.5.

1.1.7 Undergo asuccessful background criminal history check at local (base) stateand national levels including an Installation Records Check (IRC)and a National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI).

Coordinators maybe hired pending successful completion of background checks at alllevels.

The Responsibilities of the Catholic REDirector :

Coordinate with the designated priestor Wing Chaplain as the resource person advisor and coordinator ofthe Catholic Parish.

1.2.2 Meets weekly withdesignated priest or Wing Chaplain to review overall programs andgoals for preschool elementary junior high and adult religiouseducation.

1.2.3 Attendance is required atmonthly Catholic Parish Advisory Council meetings. Maintain theOffice Hours as identified in paragraph 4.

1.1 of this Statement ofWork (SOW). There are 10 additional hours that may be required forspecial events. The coordinator shall work approximately 20 hoursper week.

1.2.4 Submits an annual calendar ofevents and Budget for Catholic RE programs to Appropriated fundbudget summary and core religious education curriculum to the WingChaplain / Superintendent in accordance with AFI 52105 Vol II andlocal operation instruction.

Must attend the Financial WorkingGroup twice a year.

1.2.5 Coordinate the biblestudy program and youth ministry whenapplicable.

1.2.6 Implements parish Sacramentalprograms under guidance of the designated priest or Wing Chaplainincluding date of reception times and length of classes and parentand teacher sessions.

Is responsible for parentclasses.

1.2.7 Coordinates calendar of REactivities with parish master calendar andschedules.

1.2.8 Conducts regular meetings forconsultation support and training of teachers and assistants at alllevels. Will submit agendas for approval to the designated priestor Wing Chaplain prior to meetings.

1.2.9Coordinates plans organizes staffs and implements summer vacationreligious education program if requested by Parish will coordinatein cooperation with designated priest or Wing Chaplain (ProtestantRE Coordinator / RE Chaplain if an ecumenical program is planned forthe calendar year).

1.2.10 Recruit volunteers andmake necessary resources such as videos CDs etc. available toteachers and / or assistants.

1.2.11 Implementregistration policies and procedures as directed by the designatedpriest or Wing Chaplain.

1.2.12 Make assignmentsof teachers and assistants as well as students to classes and roomnumbers.

1.2.13 Coordinates the use offacilities; chapel annex and conference room by completing theproper forms. The coordinator is accountable for security andcleanliness of all facilities utilized in conjunction with theirprograms.

This includes all facilities utilized by the RE program.(Chapel and Dole Center)

1.2.14 Organizes specialactivities between teachers and assistants and classes i.e. AllSaints celebrations Christmas Easterevents.

1.2.15 Is responsible for maintainingweekly statistical records of attendance for students teachers andassistants and of turning in information to designated priest orWing Chaplain on a weekly basis.

1.2.16 Withguidance from designated priest or Wing Chaplain must providenecessary information for the ordering of textbooks and suppliesfor teachers and students used before suspensedate.

1.2.17 Distributes to teaching staffinformation regarding supplementary audiovisual and multimediaequipment.

1.2.18 Assigns specific duties toteaching staff as directed by the designated priest or WingChaplain.

1.2.19 Is responsible for bulletinnotices newsletters and other necessary publicity items pertainingto the RE Program.

1.2.20 Make recommendations tothe designated priest or Wing Chaplain for teachers to obtaincatechist information and certification through localdiocese.

1.2.21 Encourages teachers to continuetheir faith growth and development of teaching skills by attendingworkshops and adult education courses on parish and / or dioceselevels.

1.2.22 Monitors the instructional programin order to assure that basic principles are being taught accordingto current catechetical guidelines.

1.2.23Provides information to designated priest or Community Coordinatorto create weekly bulletins.

1.2.24 Coordinatesand attends all meetings for teachers and assistants and parishadvisory council.

1.2.25 May attend diocesanmeetings inservice training and special functions for religiouseducation and enrichment and briefs the designated priest or WingChaplain as funding is available.

1.2.26 Arrangefor a fully qualified substitute to provide required services inthe absence of the Coordinator. All subcoordinators must meet thesame qualifications as the coordinator and be approved as suitableby the Contract Officer who will coordinate approval with the WingChaplain.

Absences and substitutes will be approved in advance byabove parties.

1.2.27 Must work with the ContractPriest or the Catholic Chaplain and the Catholic CommunityCoordinator in the integration of the Religious Education Programwith the larger Catholic Community at McConnellAFB.

1.2.28 Must post sign on exterior office onthe door or wall and send email to the staff when changes to theirschedule occur.

ComplianceStandards :

1.3.1 The coordinator coordinates allsupport requirements with the WingChaplain.
