Job descriptionAssist with and / or lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely submission of financial data. Coordinate with internal departments to gather information and finalize monthly results. Maintain closing checklists and ensure all assigned tasks are completed in accordance with internal deadlines. Assist in preparing internal financial statements and management reports. Support the preparation of financial analysis for leadership, including variance explanations. Ensure adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies. Provide support for internal and external audits, including compiling requested documentation. Assist in documenting and maintaining internal controls and accounting procedures. Help identify areas for control improvement and participate in implementation efforts. Assist in preparing schedules and data required for state and federal tax filings. Ensure compliance with regulatory deadlines and support related filings. Communicate with external tax preparers or consultants as needed. Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes and propose improvements. Participate in implementation of automation tools and ERP system upgrades or enhancements. Maintain documentation of improved workflows and ensure ongoing adoption. Partner with departments such as Operations, Sales, and HR to ensure accuracy of financial data. Serve as the accounting liaison for assigned business units or projects. Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis for decision support. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP. Proficiency in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or other ERP software. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookup, data validation, etc.). Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. CPA or CPA-eligible is a plus. Experience in construction, solar, or project-based accounting environments. Familiarity with process improvement or automation tools.

This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting regulatory compliance, maintaining accounting systems, and collaborating cross-functionally to support business operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, experience with ERP systems, and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, liabilities, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
- Maintain the integrity of the chart of accounts and ensure proper classification of transactions.
