Description
The Traffic Coordinator position is responsible for coordinating all traffic functions in compliance with traffic procedures and all related government regulations, including regulated and non-regulated hazardous shipments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Prepare documents for international and domestic shipments following Commodity Codes and Countries of Origin requirements.
Comply withinternaltraffic procedures and documentation.
Authorize payment of invoices after reconciling with quotes / rates.
Initiate damaged freight claims and monitor progress through to settlement.
Contact forwarder for proof of delivery on requested shipments and conduct traces if needed.
Negotiate rates and determinecost of freight for customer billing.
Request quotes for travel methods and shipping costs.
Coordinate Next Flight Outs (NFO’s) for emergency shipments.
Coordinate shipments with Parts Sales Team.
Make direct contact with customers on shipment information and prepare packing slips as needed.
Maintain traffic files.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
An associate degree in a technical or business-related discipline is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Two four years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Certified in Hazmat for handling and shipping hazardous materials or is able to complete training.

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection
