Position Overview :

Are you an experienced, curious self-motivated professional with a passion for multifamily real estate looking for a fast-track career?

We are looking for a Multifamily Asset Management Professional to join the Structured Transactions group. The Structured Transactions group handles asset management related functions for our most complex portfolio and securitized assets, including (i) LIHTC Investments, (ii) complex portfolio and securitized assets, including bond transactions and (iii) revolving lines of credit .

These transactions represent a multi-billion-dollar, long term portfolio exposure to Freddie Mac but also represent a significant dedication to some of Freddie Mac’s most important corporate affordability objectives.

This position will be focused on the Freddie Mac LIHTC portfolio which currently is comprised of 257 assets representing $4.

0B of equity investments and these investments are estimated to increase by approximately $850MM annually. The LIHTC Asset Management Group is newly created, and the selected candidate will have large growth potential as the portfolio develops.

Your Impact :

The hired candidate will analyze, process and manage a variety of consent requests, participate in underwriting analysis, and work with clients and legal counsel as appropriate.

Your work will primarily fall into the following categories :

  • Assess project and partnership risk factors as they pertain to compliance with Section 42 (LIHTC) provisions, terms of partnership agreement, loan documents, LURAs, QAPs, and tax credit application.
  • Manage the disbursement of equity for the assigned portfolio.
  • Initiate communication with Syndicators to ensure timely submission of tax returns and audits.
  • Communicate issues that may place a project at risk to appropriate leadership in Asset Management and assist in developing an action plan that will help mitigate the risk and protect the investment.
  • Maintain a detailed and up-to-date record of property activity and document management in the database Management LIHTC Reporting System MRI
  • Preparation of internal and external reports.
  • Participate in team initiatives.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be obtained
  • 2 -4 years of experience in commercial real estate finance and asset management. LIHTC experience is a plus.

Keys to Success in this Role :

  • Interest in developing a skill set within asset management focusing on LIHTC investments and a variety of complex financing structures or unstabilized assets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to efficiently manage large volumes of requests and be a flexible teammate
  • Understanding of and experience with technology efficiency tools, specifically Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams) with an advance knowledge of excel.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong and positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Ability to understand complex legal documents
  • Experience with financial analysis
