Thermal Finisher (Burner/Cutter)

McConway & Torley is looking for Thermal Finishers (Burner / Cutter) . As a Burner you’ll perform activities related to melting, casting, and tempering steel products.

This position will be on third shift pm-am , but may train or help on other shifts.

Location : Pittsburgh, PA

What you’ll do :

• Proficiently cutting bulk material for use in the foundry
• Operating overhead cranes
• Proficiently perform carbon arcing
• Operate torch to remove excess material from all casting families
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need :

• or more years of previous manufacturing or steel industry experience
• High school diploma

Working Conditions :

• Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
• This position may require work / maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends / holidays
• Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant

• Be aware of and observe all safety practices. Including but not limited to- Safety glasses, safety boots, hearing protection, etc as required
• Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
