Position Overview and Responsibilities :

• Performs data analysis to identify fraud or financial exploitation of payees receiving an FRS Pension Plan retirement benefit.
• Data analysis may include listening to recorded phone calls, reviewing account activity, checking for online breaches, and other data gathering techniques.
• Applies knowledge of fraud schemes, general areas of vulnerability, reimbursement methodologies, and relevant laws to find suspicious patterns in claims data and other sources.
• Perform manual authentications for FRS Online users including Legal Representatives, secure individuals and members who cannot access FRS Online after being assisted by a Contact Center representative.
• Organizes data and prepares a written summary of investigative steps, conclusions, and recommendations with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Prepares clear and concise investigatory reports to support findings of potential fraud, financial exploitation, or breach of security in a format amenable to statistic gathering, cross-referencing and future monitoring.
• Actively monitors accounts previously affected by fraud, financial exploitation, or breach of security.
• Reviews reports listing high risk activities, such as multiple direct deposit or address changes, for potential unwanted activity.
• Makes immediate recommendations to the Administrator to secure retirement accounts and prevent any retirement funds from being diverted.
