Senior Accountant

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is looking for a motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. This position will be responsible for reviewing and approving payments in the WOLFS accounting system. This position is responsible for ensuring that proper coding, documentation, and procurement requirements are followed. This position also serves as a trainer for other fiscal staff and coordinates the work of accountants entering payments.

Knowledge of the maintenance of accounts, including fund accounts, and in balancing the accounts to the different systems involved

Knowledge of computer-based applications including Word processing and Excel

Experience with WOLFS is desired

Skills in effective oral and written communication

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Ability to work as an effective member of the Department's Fiscal team

3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accountant

OR

Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance)

0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accountant
