  • What Will You Be Doing?

    The Manager, Corporate Accounting will be responsible for leading the daily operations of the corporate accounting team, including month-end close, analyzing and reporting results to Accounting and Finance leadership and other key business partners, assisting in technical accounting matters, participating as a key stakeholder in special projects with other functions as necessary, identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities, and managing and developing the corporate accounting team. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting and will be based at the headquarters in Denver, Colorado.

    Essential Functions

  • 30% Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close including review of journal entries and reconciliations and tracking of close process to ensure deadlines are met.
  • 25% Effectively supervise, develop, and motivate staff of full-time employees performing corporate accounting functions.
  • 20% Support requests from internal auditors, external auditors, and financial reporting team.
  • 10% Identify and address process improvement opportunities.
  • 10% Assist in technical accounting matters
  • Other Functions

  • 5% Other tasks and special projects as assigned
  • Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of previous accounting experience required
  • BS degree in Accounting or other business field required
  • Airline Accounting experience preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • 3+ years supervisory or experience in a leadership role preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong computer spreadsheet and word processing skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain solid interpersonal relationships
  • Communicates effectively at different levels
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
