Brief Description of Job :
The Sr. Manager of Accounting manages the accounting functions for their assigned line of business (LOB), supports projects and other strategic initiatives across assigned LOB entities and works closely with the CFO in all aspects of Accounting, Finance and Reporting.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Manage the preparation, audit and review of assigned LOB financial statements and other consolidated financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Manage weekly vendor payments and ensure cash is adequate
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles and procedures
- Monitors performance of direct reports; provides prompt and objective coaching and counseling; conducts performance reviews
- Oversee research, analysis, and reporting of fluctuations to identify trends and research variances; make recommendations to improve company performance and resolve issues
- Provide the executive team with the appropriate financial reporting and analysis necessary to assist in the financial management of the company
- Provides direction to staff on strategic and departmental projects, including accounting, and reporting; manages multiple financial projects with competing deadlines simultaneously
- All other duties as assigned
