This role focuses on modernizing infrastructure and enhancing operational efficiency through automation across cloud and on-premises environments. You will lead the development and maintenance of automated deployment, configuration management, and orchestration processes, ensuring compliance, security, and scalability. The position requires hands-on expertise with both Windows and Linux systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and Infrastructure as Code tools. You will collaborate with technical teams, mentor junior engineers, and provide solutions that streamline complex workflows. By driving automation and innovation, you will directly contribute to improving productivity and reliability in a dynamic, mission-focused environment.
Accountabilities :
- Design, implement, and maintain automated deployment and configuration management solutions across Windows and Linux infrastructures using tools like Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Chef, or Puppet.
- Deploy and manage Microsoft Just Enough Administration (JEA) setups to enforce least privilege and RBAC policies aligned with security best practices.
- Automate OS patching, maintenance, and routine system administration tasks to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide support to stakeholders for general system and application-specific issues, ensuring timely troubleshooting and remediation.
- Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation and asset management records.
- Participate in hardware, software, and infrastructure upgrades, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices within the team.
- Respond to critical infrastructure incidents as part of an on-call rotation.
Requirements
7+ years of experience in systems engineering within SaaS or hosted infrastructures, focusing on automation and scalability.Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience developing, deploying, and documenting automation / orchestration standards with tools such as Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Chef, or Puppet.At least 3 years of experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server (2016, 2019) and major Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu).Strong troubleshooting skills in complex Linux environments.Understanding of data center operations, environmental controls, and security best practices.Familiarity with FedRAMP and DoD security directives is a plus.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, independent management of complex technical issues, and implementation of solutions.Drive to innovate through automation and improve operational processes continuously.Availability to serve as on-call engineer on a rotating schedule.Exposure to RPA technologies (UI Path, Automation Anywhere) is advantageous.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.U.S. Citizenship may be required to meet eligibility for security clearance.Benefits
