The Data Management Director will lead enterprise-wide data initiatives, partnering with Business Units, Data Technology, and Governance teams to define and execute a strategic data management vision. This role is responsible for ensuring data integrity, quality, and accessibility across the organization, while enabling advanced analytics and reporting capabilities through platforms like PowerBI. The Director will play a critical role in shaping data strategy, driving governance, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
This is an onsite position in Norwalk, CT or Itasca, IL
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT, data governance, data quality and data stewards to align data initiatives with organizational goals.
- Lead strategic planning and solution for data roadmap, business use cases, prioritization of data initiatives.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements partnering with business stakeholders across the business.
- Direct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes for major data initiatives, ensuring solutions meet business and technical requirements.
- Maintain oversight of documentation for data management processes, standards, and policies.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve data capabilities.

10+ years of experience in financial services or a similarly regulated industry.Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.Demonstrated success in leading data management, governance, and analytics programs.Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including data stewards, business units.Understanding and incorporating the company's data requirements.Building requirements and develop enterprise-wide data roadmap, documentation.Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead effective meetings.Highly motivated, self-starter with a clear accountability & ownership mindset and ability to challenge assumptions.Sound judgment and ability to escalate project risks and issues.Strong working knowledge of Power BI, SQL programming required. Azure Databricks a strong plus.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and other MS Office Tools.
