Hours : Standard

Onsite / Offsite : Onsite

Travel : Approximately 15-20% travel yearly, mainly within Houston for conferences, occasional visits to other locations such as Corpus Christi.

Job Description :

Our company is seeking a dynamic Desktop Support Specialist to join our team in Houston, TX. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing excellent technical support to our clients, ensuring smooth operations of their desktop systems, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all desktop support issues, providing prompt and courteous assistance to end-users.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems related to desktop systems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware and software, including operating systems and productivity applications.
  • Provide technical support for audio-visual (AV) equipment and conferencing systems, ensuring seamless presentation and communication experiences.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Document support activities, solutions, and procedures for future reference.
  • Maintain inventory of desktop equipment and software licenses.

Must-Haves :

  • Client-Facing Skills : Ability to interact effectively with clients, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Degree Preferred : While a degree is preferred, we are open to considering fresh graduates who demonstrate relevant skills and enthusiasm for the role.
  • AV Experience : Experience with audio-visual equipment and conferencing systems, ensuring smooth operation during presentations and meetings.
  • Mac Experience : Proficiency in supporting macOS environments, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Additional Skills and Qualifications :

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Experience with remote desktop support tools.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) are a plus.
