Job description

Principal Product Manager-Tech

Are you passionate about building products that improve trust for millions of customers worldwide? Do you thrive navigating complex business challenges where you define the strategy for emerging customer needs? The Customer Trust Perception team's mission is to ensure customers perceive Amazon as the most trusted shopping destination. We are looking for a Principal Product Manager-Tech (PMT) to join our team! You will own the end-to-end strategy and execution of large-scale products that help customers shop with confidence and easily evaluate options. You will work backwards from the customer needs to define the short-and long-term product vision, technical business requirements, and feature prioritization. You will partner with cross-functional teams across the company to influence and gain alignment on your vision. The right candidate possesses endless curiosity and passion for deeply understanding customer needs and developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems and improve the customer experience. You are a strategic thinker with a proven track record of identifying problems, evaluating alternative product / tech options and making high-judgement trade-off decisions to ensure an optimal solution that mitigates risks and optimizes the experience for competing customer priorities. You have proficiency driving cross-organizational alignment on complex business problems where there are many conflicting perspectives and a broad set of stakeholders. You have strong technical expertise with the ability to quickly understand the complexities of core technologies owned across organizations and conduct complex analyses of large datasets. You successfully deliver the right product solutions with positive measurable results. Key job responsibilities include managing the end-to-end product development for large-scale technical products including defining the short-and long-term product strategy, determining feature prioritization, managing the roadmap, and executing the product launch post-launch optimization. You will work backwards from the customer to deeply understand how to improve the customer experience and build trust, working closely with Research and UX Design partners. You will conduct deep dive analyses to extract key insights from large, complex data sets to make informed data-driven decisions. You will define the business requirements (including prioritization of features / user stories) to inform the technical design for WW product solutions, ensuring a tailored approach by region as needed. You will engage with partner teams across multiple organizations globally to collect inputs and drive alignment to ensure product solutions are designed to meet diverse customer needs with competing priorities. You will collaborate with engineering / science partners to determine the appropriate technical solution to meet customer needs and the business objectives, while balancing technical constraints. You will stay connected with emerging customer behavior trends and innovations both inside and outside the company to proactively identify gaps in the Amazon experience that inform product innovations. You will communicate effectively (both orally and in written form) to articulate the product vision and technical complexities with both non-technical and technical partners and senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications :

  • 10+ years of end to end product delivery experience
  • 6+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience owning / driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
  • Experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders
  • Experience interpreting and communicating analytics
  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
