What Does a Payroll Generalist Do?
The Payroll Generalist is responsible for day-to-day Payroll functions and light Human Resource responsibilities. This includes cooperation with multiple departments to keep accurate employment and payroll records for SilMan's Team Members.

Here are some of the responsibilities of this role
- Data entry and maintenance of payroll and human resource records
- Verify and implement payroll deductions, elections, and garnishments
- Complete and file payroll-related hours and earnings audits
- Document and maintain policy and procedure updates
- Offer "best practice" recommendations and insights
- Ensure timely certification of payroll reports
- Produce periodic workers' compensation and union reports
- Produce quarterly and annual payroll tax reports
- Generate payroll expense, tax, and compensation reports
- Support the Human Resource team, including new hire onboarding and maintenance of vacation / PTO hours
- Perform additional tasks or projects related to payroll operations, as needed

SilMan's compensation packages are carefully customized based on the candidate's experience and current market considerations. Our competitive base salary ranges are researched and benchmarked against peer companies. The base salary range will depend on various factors, including experience and other job-related skills.

As the Payroll Generalist, you will work with the team at our headquarters in San Leandro, California. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm.This role operates in a professional office environment.
