The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in civil construction estimating with a strong background in heavy highway construction projects.
The ideal candidate should have experience in estimating various aspects of heavy highway projects, with earthworks experience considered a significant plus.
Responsibilities :
- Estimating self-performed projects which typically range from 1 million to 30 million dollars; including pricing labor, equipment, and material costs.
- Working knowledge of construction assemblies and all project phases.
- Ability to produce detailed, accurate estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings.
- Ability to assess site exposures / construction risks and be able to appropriately analyze cost and reflect these in an estimate.
- Identify constructability issues through the estimating process.
- Identify and propose value-engineering alternatives.
Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :
- Bachelor's Degree preferred (Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar)
- 2 - 5 years heavy civil estimating or related field construction experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- HCSS / Agtek / Bluebeam Experience Preferred
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines
